"Tae Kwon Do is physical fitness at its' best and can be enjoyed by the entire family. My wife, Charity Harris is a 1st Degree black belt and certified instructor. Her favorite part of Tae Kwon Do are the forms and board breaking. Our children Alayna, Alyssa, and Alexis are also taking Tae Kwon Do classes and absolutely loving it. Their favorites are the drills and kicking target.  It is truly a great way for a family to spend quality time together", Harris says.

Assistant Black Belt And Certified Instructors include: Mr. Dan Lyon (2nd degree black belt), Yazan Ghishan (2nd Degree Black Belt), Ms. Leigh Breitenstein (1st Degree Black Belt), Mrs. Charity Harris (1st Degree black belt), and James Owens (ChoDanBo).

"Tae Kwon Do is the Korean Martial Art of kicking and punching. We do about 80% kicking, and 20% punching in our class. We also spend time learning a form of self defense called Hapkido which translates to "the art of coordinated power/energy". Hapkido involves joint locks, pressure points, throws, falls, kicks, and other self defense strikes. Although we teach students to always to walk away in a dangerous situation, we focus on tae kwon do and hapkido in order to better prepare our students in the event that they would ever need to defend themselves. The self defense we learn is only used as a last resort and to defend yourself. In our TKD class, the students have the opportunity to break boards on a regular basis, and this is something that we teach them how to do over time."  Harris says.

TKD is a rapidly growing sport and art and became an official Olympic Medal Sport for the first time in the year 2000. Harris Sport Tae Kwon Do is committed to training students who desire to compete at Olympic tkd tournaments. We typically attend approximately 6-10 tournaments per year and travel all over the nation during tournament season. Our competition team has successfully qualified for the USA tae kwon do national championships in each of the last 3 years. We are dedicated to training Olympic taekwondo athletes and helping our competitors achieve their dreams and goals in the Olympic sport of tae kwon do. YOU COULD BE THE NEXT OLYMPIAN!!!

A main goal of Harris Sport Tae Kwon Do is for students to be accountable for their actions both inside and outside of the tkd class. What this means is that we expect all students to be respectful and courteous to all people at all times. We expect students to respect their peers and parents, work hard, to do well in school and at work, and to represent Harris Sport TKD  in a positive manner at all times. We constantly emphasize the 5 tenets of Tae Kwon Do which are: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. We believe that these tenets are a huge part of success not only for tae kwon do, but also for a healthy and positive everyday life.
