CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
PILATES I - all
Designed for those new to Pilates exercise. This class is a personal and practical approach designed to emphasize the postural benefits of Pilates and how Pilates can be used to avoid or counteract everyday stresses, aches and pains. Increase flexibility, range of motion and strength while improving posture and feeling better!
PILATES MAT I - beginner
Essential Matwork – A great starting point for beginners, the Essential Matwork class teaches the Five Basic Principles, and builds a foundation of exercises required to move on to the next level. This mat-based workout will help participants develop leaner, longer-looking muscles, establish core strength and stability, and body awareness. Props may be incorporated to add variety.
PILATES I/II (55 minutes) - all
Gain muscular strength, flexibility, balance, body awareness, coordination, and more… With over 50 Matwork exercises in the Pilates System, and hundreds of ways to make the exercises more challenging, (or easier) you’ll always get a great workout & learn something new. For added variety, exercises with the Magic Circle, hand-weights, therabands, and balls may be incorporated into class.
PILATES III - intermediate / advanced
This class covers the intermediate and advanced exercises designed by Joseph Pilates for the experienced student. Props (fitness circles/bands) are used to challenge the powerhouse in a fast moving, flowing sequenced class? Please be sure that you have attended several Pilates I or I/II classes before attending the level III.
PILATES ON THE BALL - all
This class helps break down existing movement patterns and will help you tap into an unused pool of muscles to work the weak side, not just the strong side, of your body. The ball adds resistance to each exercise, which builds long lean muscles, frees up old patterns, and acts as an excellent stress releaser.
